After-school enrichment

Kindergarten – Age 12

The School Age Club (SAC) provides a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children who attend school during the day. Designed to extend learning beyond the classroom, SAC balances academic support, outdoor exploration, and meaningful peer connection.

Located on CCLC’s 10-acre campus, students benefit from open fields, wooded trails, and a dedicated yurt classroom for indoor activities and inclement weather.

A balanced after-school experience

Each afternoon includes:

  • Healthy snack

  • Supervised free play

  • Teacher-led small group activities

  • Homework support

  • Daily outdoor time

Students also participate in elements of our Children in Nature program, including trail exploration, gardening, outdoor skills, and hands-on discovery.

Transport and scheduling

  • Rappahannock County Public Schools buses transport students directly to and from CCLC.

  • Before-school “Breakfast Club” care is available, with bus transportation to the elementary school.

  • SAC students may attend on teacher workdays, holidays, and early dismissals.

  • Attendance on snow days and unscheduled closures may be available for an additional fee (space and staffing permitting).

“CCLC has been a place for our children to grow, learn, and feel loved.”
